Poem of Thought

 Loving the Unlovely Test

It sometimes can make one highly stressed
In one's being seeing the importance
Passing the loving the unlovely test

To this spiritual test one has confessed
One has only known it's unimportance
For it sometimes can make one highly stressed

Only with God to this one is blessed
To grow in this area past self-importance
Passing the loving the unlovely test

The unlovely enter one's life as purposed
A lesson in spiritual growth to be
In loving one another as proposed

As we all have faults unlovely to see
Life has given or made us that way
For the knowing to this most can agree

When the test is given to one this day
One needs not let it make one highly stressed
Because God will bless you as He does say
You passed the loving the unlovely test

Thoughts: We all have unlovely ways due life and life's situations. Many times these unlovely ways of one's self one can't help. It can be stressful and hard to love another due one's unlovely way. But, we are not supposed to judge and think one's self better than the other just because one may have matured spiritually past this fault in one's self. Consider: Galatians 6:1-3 "Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such as one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear on another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself". (NKJV). In living Christ-like we are supposed to give understanding and kindness when dealing with the unlovely. And above all, not to judge lest we be judged in our unlovely ways. Dealing with the unlovely in life will always be tested in one's spiritual walk in life. It's important to mature spiritually in passing the loving the unlovely test.

Note: I know I can and do have some unlovely ways; some due character flaws and some due life situational flaws. If I have offended or caused anyone stress due this, please forgive me and please pray for my soul as I try to learn not to judge the unlovely in others; to instead love others.

A Poem for Thought

After The Storm Birds Do Sing

While in a storm tears become a thing
Once it's past one learns to use one's voice
Because after the storm birds do sing

In a storm emotions it does bring
One's being to this given no choice
As while in a storm tears become a thing

After new life is brought as in spring
As one got through in it to rejoice
Because after the storm birds do sing

In the storm hard, but with God by one side
He holds one's hand in letting one know
In this to it's end He does provide

Although in it one's voice does come slow
As tears turn into a shout of joy
It's over as one sings a hymn bestow

In times a storm comes to one to destroy
As in a storm tears become a thing
But with God strength given as its convoy
Because after the storm birds do sing
     ©Doris Elaine

Thoughts: Ever notice how much and loud birds sing after a storm has past. Seems, it's the joy of making it through and of knowing a future is ahead that gives them their voice. Storms do pass and with God He can give one strength to get through in looking to one's future. Although hard in the mist of a storm when emotions can run high and one may shed a tear or two, once through a hymn of joy can grace one's life in trusting God to see one through. Given to this, perhaps much and loud in one's joy to sing as after the storm birds do sing.

Growing Strong in The Lord Poem

 Let Go and Live

One must learn how in life to thrive
This sometimes past situations make it hard
As one learns how to let go and live

Even when hurt in past, to this forgive
For in order to move on unbarred
In learning how in life to thrive

For one's future with God is well and alive
To one's past He's forgiven with regard
When one learns to let go and live

Hard to live good stuck in the past
It's to this hard place to self one does harm
As opportunity slips by ever so fast

To one's future He signals an alarm
In knowing with God your future is bright
As He guides one out of past to charm

When to one's past happiness a fight
One must learn how in life to thrive
Draw near to God in His foresight
In learning how to let go and live
     ©Doris Elaine

Thoughts: We do sometimes get stuck in our past; especially when it has been hurtful and hard. In doing this we also forget, sometimes, how to thrive and live beyond our past. And in doing this we can also miss out on the "now' and "future" opportunities life has for us. But, no matter, how hurtful and/or hard one's past, with God one always has the joy of now and a bright future. One just needs to learn how to thrive beyond past and let go and live.

A Poem for Thought

 If It Works, It Works

We all have differences in our inner-works
Some are more extreme than others
Relations always are if it works, it works

For some are weird, wacky, and sometimes jerks
But in Christ we're all sisters and brothers
We all have differences in our inner-works

These differences can also have perks
Allowed to breath their own, not smothers
Relations always are if it works, it works

Understanding hard upon encounter
Patience needed to bond a connection
Even when the relation seems a downer

In this God knew in it's election
For destiny be if not to quit
Where strong the bond upon it's reflection

Relations work if differences we admit
As all have differences in our inner-works
And to this giving respect to commit
Relations always are if it works, it works
     ©Doris Elaine

Thoughts: Relations, rather friends or more, will always have their ups and downs due each person having differences in their inner being; differences in opinion and in the way each operate in life. The key is in knowing this and respecting each other in their differences, as it is as God intended in a world of different beings. Bonding with another doesn't always come easy as there may be ups and downs before a sure bond is created. It takes time in understanding each other and patience in respecting each other's differences. The key is to not give up when there seems to be even the weakest connection. If the relation is God ordained it will always be if it works, it works.

Growing Strong in The Lord Acrostic Poem

 Faith, Hope, & Love

Faith is to have complete trust in Him above
Able in life to every situation to cope
In knowing His love He gives thereof
To our sinful nature He never says nope
Help from Him to this we are free of

Hope is a desire of a certain thing of scope
Ordered by God, to the one behove
Prompting one to not live on a tightrope
Elevating one's spirit to fly as a dove

Love desired by everyone, this be a slippery slope
Opening one's heart to receive truelove
Valuable to God, one's heart He does elope
Evidence that of these three, the greatest is love
     ©Doris Elaine

Reference of Thoughts: Faith and Hope comes through our relationship with Jesus Christ; which equals or gives us the outcome of Love. And, Love being the greatest of all three.

"We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and father, knowing. beloved brethren, your election by God" (1 Thessalonians 1:2-4. NKJV).

"But let us who are of the day sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation" (1 Thessalonians 5:8. NKJV).

"And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love" (1 Corinthians 13:13. NKJV).
